About Miikana
Miikana Marketing and Promotion Inc. isn’t just a business; it’s a reflection of our journey back to our roots in Rama First Nation, along with a shared vision to build something meaningful. Founded by Julie Sawyer, Donna Reid, and Carlos Martins, Miikana brings together cultural heritage and the technical knowledge required to bring our ideas to life.
Julie and Donna’s path was one of rediscovery. Their father was part of the 60’s Scoop, which meant they grew up disconnected from their community and heritage. Moving back to Rama allowed them to reconnect with their Indigenous roots. Carlos joined them with a shared passion and the expertise to help create the business.
Miikana, meaning "path" in Ojibwe, represents both a personal journey of reconnection and a professional commitment to building something great together. We specialize in high-quality, custom-branded merchandise, from eco-friendly options to event-specific promotions. Our goal is to provide the tools and services your brand needs to stand out and make a lasting impression.
As we continue on this journey—learning, growing, and supporting each other—we remain focused on helping businesses thrive while contributing to the community that welcomed us home.
This is more than a business. This is our journey. We are Miikana!

WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO
A company’s identity is more than just its logo or tagline—it’s the core of how it is perceived by its audience. It defines its values, mission, and the message it conveys to the world. For Miikana, helping businesses shape and express their identity is not just a service we offer but a reflection of our own journey. Just as we have navigated the path to define who we are, we understand the significance of establishing a clear, authentic brand identity. It’s about being seen, understood, and making a meaningful impact.
